The death of a man who collapsed at a Surrey police station is being investigated by the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC).

Jan McLean, 34, was arrested in Boxgrove Park, Guildford on Monday and taken to the town's police station.

When Mr McLean became unwell he was taken to hospital where he died on Wednesday evening, the IPCC said.

A post mortem examination was carried out on Thursday, but the results were inconclusive.

IPCC commissioner Jennifer Izekor said: "Our investigation will piece together evidence in order to build up a picture of the circumstances surrounding his death."
