Two men charged with Highdown Prison mutiny

Two men have been charged with prison mutiny and criminal damage following an incident at Highdown Prison in Surrey.

Inmates barricaded themselves in a prison cell on 21 October.

Some of the prisoners were subsequently transferred to other prisons and an investigation followed, police said.

Both men will appear before South East Surrey magistrates next month. Another nine men have been summoned to court for the same offences.
