Guildford attack victim died from head injury

A man attacked outside Guildford City Social Club died from a head injury, Surrey Police have said.

It follows a post-mortem examination on the body of Richard Stroud, 46, from Guildford, who was assaulted in Josephs Road on Saturday and died the next day.

Two other men were treated in hospital.

Matthew Boyd, 32, of Waverley Road in Plumstead, south London, has been charged with murder and two counts of assault.

He has been remanded in custody to appear at Guildford Crown Court on 1 April.
