M25 pedestrian death: Driver released on bail

A driver who was arrested following the death of a woman on the M25 has been released on bail.

The woman, who was in her 30s, was struck as she walked near the slip road at junction 13 at Staines-upon-Thames, Surrey, in the early hours of Sunday.

The 37-year-old driver of a VW Golf, found nearby, was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop after a crash and for an alleged positive breath test.

Surrey Police said the man had been bailed until 19 February.

Shortly after the crash, a second collision involving a minibus and three cars happened between junctions 13 and 14 of the M25.

Two people were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
