Man given hospital order for Horley arson attacks

A man has been detained indefinitely after pleading guilty to two arson attacks, attempted criminal damage and destroying property.

David Stevens, 30, of Massetts Road, Horley, was charged following incidents in Surrey last summer.

All the offences, including two of arson relating to a chair and a tyre, took place at care homes in Horley.

He was sentenced at Guildford Crown Court, where he was ordered to be detained under a hospital order.

In October, six charges of arson and two of criminal damage relating to incidents at sports clubs were discontinued by the prosecution.
