A 21-year-old man charged with murder after a man's body was found in a stream has been remanded in custody.

The body of Joe McMinn, 28, was discovered in a wooded area known as Devil's Den, next to Goodwyns housing estate in Dorking, on Monday morning.

His family said he was a "kind man who would go out of his way to help people".

The accused, Richard Taylor, of no fixed address, is due to appear again at Guildford Crown Court on 28 April.

A post-mortem examination found Mr McMinn died of multiple stab wounds.

In a tribute, his family said: "We are devastated to have lost our dear son, brother and uncle."
