Burpham attack: Man charged after van 'murder attempt'

A man has been charged with two counts of attempted murder after a 21-year-old hit by a van suffered serious injuries.

The male victim suffered leg, arm and head injuries in Bowers Farm Drive, Burpham, Guildford, on Thursday.

Raymond Benjamin Harms, 25, has been charged with two counts of attempted murder, dangerous driving, affray and criminal damage.

He is due to appear at South East Surrey Magistrates' Court on Monday, police said.

The charges also relate to incidents that occurred in Lawrence Close on the same evening, police said.

A 29-year-old man, a 31-year-old man and a 47-year-old man, all from Guildford, were arrested suspicion of attempted murder, affray and criminal damage and have been released on bail until 13 June.
