A man injured after the car he was in was hit by a falling tree has died.

The 26-year-old was one of six people hurt when a Mini Cooper and a Mercedes were struck on Sunday in Guildford Road, Chertsey.

Surrey Police said he has since died. Two other passengers - a seven-year-old girl and 17-year-old male - are still in hospital.

The driver of the Mini Cooper and two occupants of the Mercedes have been released after treatment.

A force spokesman said it took five hours to remove the tree from the carriageway.
