Fire crews tackle woodland blaze in Eridge, East Sussex

Fire crews have been tackling a fire that spread through six acres (2.5 hectares) of woodland.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue said up to 30 firefighters were tackling the forest fire in Eridge.

A spokeswoman said the fire, which broke out after 1100 BST, had spread through a plantation of conifers.

Crews from Tunbridge Wells, Wadhust, Forest Row and Heathfield have been using specialist equipment to contain the fire.
