A 16-year-old girl has died after a road crash in Sussex on Saturday.

Police said the teenager from Slinfold died from her injuries at Queen's Hospital in Romford, Essex, after the accident at Wisborough Green.

She was in a car with three other people when it collided with a lorry.

The car driver, a woman, 18, and a man, 18, remain in hospital in a critical condition, a 16-year-old boy is in a serious condition. The lorry driver was unhurt.

The girl who died has not yet been named.

Police have appealed for anyone who saw the accident to contact the officers.

The collision, at about 1645 BST in Kirdford Road, involved a Vauxhall Corsa and a 7.5 tonne flatbed lorry.

The injured man and boy are both in London hospitals, and the woman was taken to the Hurstwood Park Neurological Centre in Haywards Heath.
