Cash taken in Hove Co-op armed robbery

A knife-wielding robber has stolen cash from a worker at a Co-op store in an armed robbery in Hove.

Police said an unknown quantity of cash was taken in the raid at the shop in Church Road on Friday morning.

Officers said a member of staff was approached by the man, threatened with a knife and also assaulted.

The offender left through a fire exit, but it was not known what direction he went in. A man has been arrested and house-to-house inquiries carried out.

Det Insp Steve Warner said the victim suffered bruising in the attack.
