Man jailed for train sex assault on woman, 86

A man who admitted sexually assaulting an 86-year-old woman on a train in East Sussex has been jailed for a year.

Ivor Taylor, 44, of Cranfield Road, Bexhill, was also placed on the sex offenders register for 10 years when he appeared at Lewes Crown Court.

British Transport Police said Taylor boarded the Brighton-bound train at St Leonards Warrior Square station on 27 April.

He sat next to the woman, made advances upon her and then tried to kiss her.

Det Con Nigel Craig said: "Taylor's advances left the victim disgusted and his actions were made all the worse by the fact of her age."
