New Eastbourne technology academy gets £10m for revamp
A technology academy in East Sussex has been given £10m by the government for new or improved buildings.
The Eastbourne Academy said it would provide state-of-the-art facilities for its 900 students.
The academy opened in September after East Sussex County Council voted to close Eastbourne Technology College.
Keith Pailthorpe, the academy's principal, said: "We are determined to raise aspirations in our local community."
East Sussex County Council jointly sponsors the all-ability academy with Sussex Downs College and further support from the University of Brighton.
