Pub in Woking severely damaged by blaze

More than 30 firefighters tackled a blaze which severely damaged a pub in Surrey.

Six crews from Surrey Fire and Rescue Service were called to The Rowbarge Hotel in St John's Road, St John's, Woking at about 1550 GMT on Saturday.

Firefighters used an aerial ladder to bring the flames, which destroyed most of the roof, under control.

Surrey Fire and Rescue said no one was injured and the fire was extinguished at about 1745 GMT.

The service said the two-storey building's first floor kitchen was also badly damaged by the fire.

An investigation into the cause of the blaze has been started.
