A plan setting out the future of the transport system across West Sussex has been published.

The Transport Plan from West Sussex County Council lists priorities include making improvements to the A27 and A23.

The plan covers the period up to 2026 and details aims for improvements across each district and borough.

"It comes at a time when we are experiencing heavy cuts to our funding," deputy leader Lionel Barnard said.

"This means we have to prioritise and adapt while at the same time working towards important improvements and developments to keep West Sussex moving."

The plan lists improvements to the A27 at Chichester, Arundel and Worthing and work on the A23 between Handcross and Warninglid as priorities.

The document, which was approved by the full county council, was written after consultation events were held across the county.

The Transport Plan is available on the West Sussex County Council website.
