Two arrested in Hastings for drugs offences

Two people have been arrested for drugs offences and wasting police time after officers were called to reports of a burglary at a property in East Sussex.

Police received calls on Thursday night claiming there was an armed break-in at a house in St Helens Down, Hastings, and cars were being vandalised.

They went to the property twice after 2200 GMT but there were no intruders.

When they went inside they found a small hydroponics set up, believed to be for the cultivation of cannabis.

A 28-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man, both from Hastings, were arrested on suspicion of producing cannabis, possession of cannabis and wasting police time.
