Police name East Grinstead bridge fall crash victim

A man who died when he fell from a bridge and was hit by a car in West Sussex has been named, by police.

William Rayner was struck on the A22 Beaching Way, in East Grinstead, just after 0500 BST on Monday.

Sussex Police believe the 19-year-old, of Railway Approach, East Grinstead, had fallen from the bridge into the path of the car. The driver was unhurt.

Officers are investigating the circumstances of Mr Rayner's death, but are not treating it as suspicious.
