Men 'leave behind jewellery' in attempted Horsham theft

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of attempting to rob a jewellery shop in West Sussex.

Officers were called to Sakakina Jewellers in Horsham at 1340 BST to reports of an attempted theft.

Sussex Police said a man distracted staff while another went behind the counter and grabbed a jewellery tray.

A spokesman for the force said after the men left, employees discovered they had taken the tray and left the jewellery behind.

Two men were arrested nearby in connection with the incident and are being questioned in custody.
