Bognor betting shop raiders threaten staff and take cash

Three men who raided a betting shop in West Sussex threatened staff and got away with a large quantity of cash.

The men, all aged between 20 and 25, forced their way into Ladbrokes in Chichester Road, Bognor Regis just before 2200 BST on Friday, police said.

One of the men was carrying a stick or similar weapon but this was not used. Staff were left shaken, but unhurt.

Det Sgt Alan Pack said one was tall and skinny, one short and stocky and one slim and athletic.

"They make a very distinctive group and I am confident they will stand out to those who know them, particularly if they are seen using an unusually large amount of cash," he said.

All the raiders were wearing hooded tops. One had a dark purple top, dark blue trousers and white trainers.

Another a grey top with a scarf over his mouth and nose and the third a grey top with hammer-shaped cross motifs and a dark scarf over his face.

Det Sgt Pack appealed for anyone with information to contact police.
