The club house at a West Sussex golf course has been destroyed in a fire in the early hours of Sunday.

Emergency services were alerted to the blaze, at Tilgate Forest Golf Centre in Crawley, at about 0400 BST.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said the 65ft x 98ft (20m x 30m) building suffered "100% damage". Firefighters remain on the scene.

Fire investigation officers are looking into the cause of the blaze, which it is thought to be suspicious.

But forensic officers will be unable to get into the building until it is declared safe.

The club website said the golf centre was closed as a result of the fire.
