Robbers steal cash from Brighton bingo hall tills

About £1,000 in cash has been stolen by robbers who targeted tills in the main foyer of a bingo hall in Brighton.

Staff at Beacon Bingo in Moulsecoomb Way were threatened by two men, one of whom was believed to have been armed with a sharp instrument.

Police said the four workers were left badly shaken, but unhurt, following the incident at about 1930 BST on Sunday. There were no customers present.

The robbers fled through a side entrance into a waiting car.

Black clothing

Officers said the car was a new-style silver Mondeo saloon which had been stolen in Worthing during the previous day.

It was later found abandoned in Southall Road.

The suspects were both wearing head coverings and black clothing.

They were described as being about 5ft 6in tall, of slim build and in their late 20s.
