Man tied up during a robbery in Bexhill

A man was tied up and threatened with a knife by four men during a robbery in Bexhill.

Sussex Police were called to the Best One convenience store in Ninfield Road just before 0255 BST.

The victim had managed to free himself before police arrived and did not suffer any injuries in the attack.

Four men were arrested in Bexhill a few minutes later. They were two men from Middlesex aged 28 and 20 and two men of no fixed abode aged 26 and 24.

They were held after police stopped a green Ford Mondeo in Chain Lane at 0300 BST.

Electrical items were taken from the man's flat in the raid before the robbers went downstairs and took more items from the store.

Detective Inspector Ian Williams said: "We believe this robbery was targeted and that at least one of the offenders is known to the victim."
