Cyclist in Chidham fatal crash named

A cyclist who died in a collision with a van in Sussex has been named as 41-year-old Alistair Pratt.

Sussex Police said Mr Pratt, from Fifth Avenue, Havant, Hampshire, died at the scene of the collision on the A259 in Chidham on 14 June.

The 29-year-old driver of a Ford Transit van was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and has been bailed until 14 July.

Police urged any witnesses to the crash to come forward.

The collision, which happened at 0915 BST, resulted in the closure for four hours of the A259 at the junction with Cot Lane in Chidham.
