Van driver held over biker death on A272 at Cowfold

A van driver has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving after the death of a motorcyclist in West Sussex.

The 46-year-old rider, from Burgess Hill, was on a Ducati 748 when it collided with a van on the A272 at Cowfold and hit a signpost.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the collision which happened on Wednesday at the Kent Street junction.

A man was later arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

Sussex Police want to hear from the driver of a "family type" car which was driving east from Cowfold along the A272 just before the collision and was being followed by a white Transit van.
