Two men whose bodies were found in the sea at Brighton on the same day have been identified by police in Sussex.

The body of Shaun Pinkney, 32, from Hove, was recovered east of Brighton Marina at 1525 BST on 25 June.

Two hours later, the body of John Donovan, 74, from Brighton, was pulled from the sea near Portland Place after he had been seen entering the water.

Police are not treating either death as suspicious and said there was no reason to believe they were connected.

However, they said they were keen to hear from anyone who may have seen Mr Pinkney in the two weeks leading up to his body being found.
