Brighton man faces murder attempt charge

A man has been charged with attempted murder after another man was seriously injured in Brighton.

Patrick Lyons, 55, of Down Terrace, Brighton, is accused of attempted murder and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Two women also face charges after the incident, in The Causeway on Saturday, when a man was attacked before being involved in a collision with a car.

All three have been remanded to appear at Lewes Crown Court on Friday.

Louise Lyons, 29, of Carden Avenue, is accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent and actual bodily harm.

Katie Lyons, 26, of Firle Road, is accused of causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Mr Lyons and Louise Lyons were remanded in custody when they appeared before Brighton magistrates on Wednesday. Katie Lyons was granted bail.

The 33-year-old victim remains in a serious but stable condition in hospital with head and chest injuries, Sussex Police said.
