Robbers target bank cash delivery in Leicester

Two men who held up a cash delivery to a bank in Leicester are being sought by police.

They targeted a security guard in Cavendish Road, Leicester, just as he was about to make the delivery to the bank.

Police said they demanded the cash box from the guard and then grabbed it before making off in a dark car towards Saffron Lane.

The exact amount stolen in the incident on Monday, has not been disclosed.

'Extremely distressing'

One of the suspects was wearing a sky blue zip-up hooded top, dark jeans and black gloves.

Det Con Dave Rock said: "Although no-one was hurt during the incident it was extremely distressing for the victim and no doubt will leave a lasting effect on him.

"The incident took place in broad daylight at a time when most people would be out and about, it took place in a busy area at the junction with Cavendish Road and Aylestone Road.

"I would urge anyone who was in this area and witnessed the incident to contact us."
