Man arrested over Bognor Regis knifepoint robbery

A man has been arrested following a knifepoint robbery at a West Sussex convenience store.

Staff were threatened with a weapon and about £190 was stolen during the incident in the One Stop store, Middleton, Bognor Regis on Wednesday.

Sussex Police said a 24-year-old local man had been arrested on suspicion of robbery.

The force is looking into whether the raid is linked to two other incidents in Bognor Regis.

Det Sgt John Kalli, of Sussex Police, said: "We are in the early stages of the investigation and are not ruling out the possibility that this robbery may be linked to the one on Saturday 30 July at Peters Newsagent in Middleton Road, Bognor and the Ladbrokes robbery in Chichester Road, Bersted, Bognor on Tuesday.

"Fortunately no-one was hurt in either of the robberies. Officers are talking to local businesses and residents and extra patrols of the area are being conducted."

He appealed for anyone with information to contact Sussex Police.
