A fire that killed a man and a woman at a holiday park in Hastings is not being treated as suspicious, Sussex Police have said.

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Combe Haven Holiday Park in Harley Shute Road, St Leonards, at 22:10 BST on Saturday.

The occupants of the caravan, a man aged 50 and a woman aged 49, were declared dead at the scene.

Officers said the exact cause of the fire had still not been established.

Det Insp Emma Heater said: "This is a very tragic incident and our thoughts are with the families of the deceased.

"The exact cause of the fire has still not been established and forensic examinations are continuing."

The couple, who have not yet been named, had owned the caravan since 2007.
