Motorist dies as car leaves A264 at Faygate

A motorist was killed when the car he was driving left the road in West Sussex and hit a hedgerow.

The 52-year-old was driving a Toyota Avensis eastbound on the A264 at Faygate on Wednesday when his car left the carriageway at about 21:45 BST

The man from Horsham died at the scene and a 25-year-old male passenger suffered minor injuries and was taken to East Surrey Hospital.

The road was closed in both directions for five-and-a-half hours.
