Bognor Regis stabbing prompts Sussex Police appeal

A man has been taken to hospital with a stab wound after an attack in a West Sussex seaside town.

Sussex Police said the assault happened late on Saturday night in Linden Road, Bognor Regis.

Det Sgt Alan Pack said the victim suffered a stab wound to his side and was taken to St Richard's Hospital in Chichester.

He said police patrols had been stepped up in the area and appealed for any witnesses to come forward.

Officers sealed off the area on Sunday, following the attack which happened just before 23:00 BST on Saturday, while a forensic examination took place.
