Police link four mobile phone shop raids in Sussex

Four raids on mobile phone shops, including three at knifepoint, are being linked by Sussex Police.

During one incident at the Mobile Phone Shop, Worthing, the thief stole stole handsets worth £1,500 after threatening staff with a knife.

Officers believe the same man is also responsible for attacks in Western Road, Brighton, George Street, Hove, and Montague Street in Worthing.

The force has released a CCTV image of a man they want to trace.

During the most recent raids at Replay Exchange in Brighton on 16 August, and the Mobile Phone shop in Worthing on 7 August, the offender fled the scene on a BMX-style bike.

The suspect is described as black, thin, 5ft 5in to 5ft 7in tall and in his late teens to mid 20s.

Det Con Laura Sinden said: "If you think it might be you or someone you know in this picture, please contact police immediately.

"We wish to speak to this man as part of the ongoing investigation into this serious offence."
