Boy, 15, punched in face by man in Littlehampton attack

A 15-year-old boy has been attacked by a man who punched him several times in the face in a West Sussex street.

Sussex Police said the teenager was approached by a group of three men and a woman in Littlehampton High Street on Saturday night.

Officers said one of the men attacked the teenager, who suffered a suspected broken cheekbone or eye socket.

The boy was treated in hospital for his injuries. Police said it was an apparently motiveless assault.

Appealing for witnesses, officers said the boy's phone fell out of his pocket but was not taken during the attack shortly before 20:50 BST, and there was no evidence that robbery was the motive.

The suspect was described as white, with light brown hair and a large, powerful build.
