A 57-year-old man wanted in connection with a number of alleged fraud offences has been arrested after being deported from Thailand.

The force made appeals to trace Paul Ridden, of Eastbourne, after he failed to answer bail in April.

Authorities in Thailand arrested him on suspicion of visa offences last month and he was detained after arriving at Heathrow Airport on Thursday.

Mr Ridden, of Mallard Close, is due before Eastbourne magistrates later.

He is charged with six counts of fraud by false representation, four counts of theft, one count of obtaining property by deception and failing to surrender to police bail.

The alleged offences are said to have taken place in Eastbourne on various dates last year, police said.
