The trial of a 28-year-old charged with the murder of a man found dead in his East Sussex flat has been adjourned.

Christopher Hunnisett is accused of killing Peter Bick, 57, at his home in Bexhill, on 11 January.

A post-mortem examination found he died from severe head trauma.

The judge, Mr Justice Saunders, sitting at Lewes Crown Court, set a new trial date for 23 April next year to allow further reports to be drawn up.

Supermarket worker Mr Bick, who lived alone, was described by his family as a great animal lover who "was very friendly and was well-liked".

Mr Hunnisett, of Chanctonbury Drive, Hastings, was remanded in custody.
