Elderly man dies in Peacehaven fire

A man in his 70s has died in a fire at a property in East Sussex.

Firefighters were called to the property in Firle Road, Peacehaven, at about 12:30 BST on Saturday.

The man is thought to have died from serious burns. No-one else was injured. Police said his death was being treated as unexplained but not suspicious.

A police spokesman said it was "likely to have been a tragic accident" and the incident had been referred to the Sussex coroner.
