Woodland and fields in East Sussex have been searched by police officers and volunteers in the hunt for a missing 69-year-old man who lives in a caravan.

Bruce Coleman, who lives alone, was reported missing from Nursery Lane, in Blackboys, last Thursday by concerned neighbours who had not seen him.

Det Insp Rob Morland, of Sussex Police, said he was known as "a bit of a loner" but was normally seen quite regularly.

A helicopter, police dogs, and over 80 volunteers have joined the search.

Mr Coleman is described as white, of stocky build with thinning, receding hair and a beard.

Officers said he may be wearing a blue crew neck jumper and dark trousers.

Det Insp Morland added: "We are increasingly concerned for Mr Coleman's welfare, particularly as the weather has turned colder."
