Homeless man kicked and punched in Brighton attack

Two teenagers have been arrested following an "unpleasant and unprovoked attack" on a homeless man in Brighton.

Police said the man, in his mid-40s, was punched in the face several times, kicked and verbally abused during the attack in East Street.

The group of five men, who also threw rubbish over the victim, then fled the scene.

Two men, both aged 18 and from Rodmell and Seaford in East Sussex, have been arrested on suspicion of assault.

They have been released on police bail until 7 December on condition that they do not to enter Brighton or Hove.

Detectives said "fortunately the victim sustained only minor injuries" and appealed for any witnesses to the incident on 11 November to contact the force.
