Teenagers arrested after stabbing in St Leonards

Five teenagers have been arrested after a man was stabbed in the chest in East Sussex.

The victim, 21, was attacked in Warrior Square, St Leonards at about 22:30 GMT on Friday and taken to hospital.

A 19-year-old man and two 18 year-old men, all from Hastings, were arrested nearby, with a 15-year-old boy and 16-year-old boy from St Leonards.

The 21-year old man remains hospital where his condition is described as "stable".

The suspects, arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, were released on bail until 8 December.

Det Supt Paul Sandeman from Sussex Police said: "We believe the victim knew his attackers and we would like to hear from anyone who witnessed the incident taking place or a group of youths in the area."
