Shop worker threatened in robbery at Currys in Worthing

A man has been arrested in connection with a robbery in which a staff member was threatened as two laptops and an iPad were stolen from a shop window.

The woman was threatened with a piece of wood at the robbery at Currys, in Downland Business Park, Worthing, West Sussex at 09:30 GMT on Tuesday.

A 19-year-old man from Reigate, Surrey, was arrested later by Surrey Police on suspicion of burglary.

Sussex Police said three men were involved in the robbery.

The raiders, all in their late teens or early 20s, threatened the woman as she challenged them.

Det Con Laura Sinden said: "We are in the very early stages of investigating the robbery and are offering support to the victim and other staff members."
