Five arrested after pistol fired in Eastbourne
Five people have been arrested after a suspected firearm was discharged during a fight in an East Sussex seaside town.
Sussex Police said the weapon, believed to be a starter pistol, was fired in Ashington Road, Eastbourne, at 23:30 GMT on Wednesday.
Two women were arrested nearby on suspicion of affray. Three men were arrested in a car in Willingdon Drive.
One of the men, aged 42, was held on suspicion of possessing a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence.
The other men, aged 20 and 46, were arrested on suspicion of affray.
Det Insp Richard Bates, of Sussex Police, said: "No serious injuries were sustained during this incident.
"The people that were involved in this fight are all known to each other and no one else was threatened."
