Brother in court over Christmas murder in Littlehampton

A man has appeared in court charged with the murder of his brother at a party in Sussex on Christmas Day.

At Worthing Magistrates' Court Vaides Juras was accused of stabbing to death Bronius Juras, 38, of Bayford Road, Littlehampton.

Mr Juras, of Beach Road, Littlehampton, was remanded in custody to appear at Southwark Crown Court on Friday.

A post-mortem examination revealed that Lithuanian national Bronius Juras died of a single stab wound to his heart.

Police were called to an address in Beach Road, Littlehampton, at about 21:00 GMT on Sunday.

Originally, 12 people were arrested in connection with the stabbing.

Sussex Police said three men had been bailed for four weeks while inquiries continue, and eight people had been released without charge.
