Sussex Police: Arundel country house stripped of lead

Thieves have left a grade I listed country house in West Sussex badly damaged after stripping £50,000 of lead from the roof.

Police said the theft from the property in Arundel Road, Worthing, had been "incredibly upsetting" for the owners.

Det Con Sarah Thurgood, of Sussex Police, said: "Considerable damage has been caused to the roof".

Two white Transit-style vans were seen in the area at the time of the burglary on the morning of 11 January.
