Sheep flock mauled in Hastings dog attack

At least seven sheep have died and more than 30 have been injured in an attack by dogs in East Sussex.

Sussex Police confirmed an incident at a farm in Hastings in the early hours of Wednesday was being investigated.

Farmer Tim Jury said dogs attacked one group of sheep at Cherry Orchard Farm in Pett that were all about a year old and another group who were all in lamb.

He said neighbours alerted him at about 00:15 GMT and he went out to find his animals had been mauled.

Mr Jury said he had lost two ewes in lamb and five yearling lambs in the attack and 37 sheep in total had been injured.
