£4m of cocaine found in luggage at Gatwick Airport

Four Spanish nationals have been charged with importing cocaine after 86kg of the drug was found inside passenger luggage at Gatwick Airport.

The cocaine, which has an estimated street value of £4m, was discovered packed inside suitcases at the airport's South Terminal on Friday.

The Spaniards had arrived on a flight from the Dominican Republic.

Ingrid Smith, from the UK Border Agency, said the seizure was one of the largest ever at Gatwick.
