Knifeman leaves Littlehampton robbery victim unconscious

A man was robbed at knifepoint and left unconscious by a masked attacker after he left a restaurant in Littlehampton.

The victim, who was carrying a bag containing a large amount of money, was ambushed in Windmill Road after he left the Harvester restaurant.

Police said he was punched in the head and kicked in the stomach as he fell to the ground, near the amusement park on Monday, losing consciousness.

He was treated at hospital before being allowed home.

Balaclava-style mask

Police are not saying how much money was stolen, but confirmed it was "thousands of pounds".

They said the attacker, who was thought to be in his 20s, was wearing a grey and black balaclava-style mask, a black fleece and blue jeans.

He was seen running into South Terrace, then Beach Road and Irvine Road.

Police are appealing for witnesses, particularly anyone who may have seen the suspect near the Harvester at about 09:45 GMT on Monday.
