Crawley man stabbed in back of head at block of flats

A 46-year-old man has been stabbed several times in the back of his head at flats in West Sussex.

Emergency crews took the victim to East Surrey Hospital, after finding him in the ground floor hallway of the building, in Crawley.

A man, 46, was detained on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm, after the incident at the flats, in Byrd Road, at about 20:00 GMT on Wednesday.

The victim's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

A knife was recovered by police at the scene.

Sussex Police said both men live at the flats and know each other.
