Brighton and Bournemouth players answer sex assault case bail

Four Brighton and Hove Albion footballers and a Bournemouth player arrested over an alleged sex assault have had their bail extended.

Sussex Police said the five men have been re-bailed until 16 May while investigations continue.

Six players were held in January by police investigating allegations of an attack on a woman last July.

Brighton defender Tommy Elphick, 24, was later eliminated from the investigation.

Those answering bail on Wednesday were Brighton and Hove Albion players Anton Rodgers, 18, Lewis Dunk, 20, George Barker, 20, and Ben Sampayo, 19.

Former Seagulls player Steve Cook, 20, who was signed by AFC Bournemouth in January, also had his bail extended.
