Decision made on Littlehampton hospital plans

Plans for a new West Sussex hospital have been ruled out after a final decision was made at a board meeting.

On Tuesday, the NHS Sussex board agreed with a report which said there was no need for the hospital at Littlehampton.

The board said the money would be better spent on other services, including home care.

In December campaigners delivered 8,000 letters to Downing Street demanding to know why a new hospital had not been built.
