Sussex Police link spate of car thefts

A spate of thefts of expensive cars from homes in the Mid Sussex area are being linked by police.

In the most recent incidents, a BMW was stolen from an address in Balcombe and an Audi A3 was taken from a driveway in Copthorne.

Sussex Police are linking the incidents to thefts in Three Bridges, Furnace Green, Crawley and Ifield.

In each case, burglars first broke into homes and stole the vehicle keys. No-one has been injured in the raids.

A force spokesman said: "Although the crimes have happened overnight while the owners are asleep, there is no suggestion that the offenders are interested in anything other than the cars.

"We do not want people to be unduly alarmed."
